Best pasta pots

I have yet to meet a person who does not like pasta. I get that you may not like one pasta recipe, but it is almost impossible not to like them at all, especially when there are so many recipes. Those Italians sure knew what they were doing. My favorite is the Carbonara and the Bolognese, but I would not say no to any of them. Except for the ones that have mushrooms. That is where I put my foot down. While eating a pasta dish at the restaurant is fine, I like to make my own, at home. That is why I bought myself the best pasta pot I could find.

I find them incredibly versatile because I can also steam vegetables in them, but that is another story. The insert is a smaller pot that you need to insert in the original pot. The smaller pot has some holes in it. The water gets in, boils the pasta, and when they are done, you just lift the smaller pot that acts as a strainer. Simple as that. Usually, you need to pour the water and the pasta in a colander, and then put the pasta back in the pot. My way is simpler, don’t you think?

To be honest, I thought that I had more reasons why I love pasta pots, but there are only two. Apparently, that is enough to make me buy some new kitchenware. Even so, you have to admit that my two reasons are compelling. You can go away from the stove without the fear that you will find a puddle when you come back, and that should say it all.

How to choose the best pasta pot?

Some models have more than one. I think they are more versatile, you do not need a strainer, and I feel like there is a little bit less work. At the end of the day, the choice is yours.
  • Size – I am currently cooking for two, but when it comes to pasta, I make 4 servings because I eat two on the same day, my significant other just one, and I need one for the next day. Other metals are suitable as well, but only as long as they have a non-stick coating. If the paste sticks to the bottom, you either burn them or undercook them. I know it sounds weird, but pasta is tricky.
  • High-quality handles – I always recommend people to buy pots with sturdy handles when it comes to hot liquids. I do not know if you ever burned yourself, but it hurts like hell. That is why I think strong handles are a must. Also, make sure that they will remain cold so that you do not burn yourself when you remove the pot from the stove.

As for capacity, this is an 8-quart pasta pot, which is enough for 4 to 6 servings, but there is no issue if you cook less.

One of the reasons I like this set is that it is dishwasher safe. I hate doing the dishes, which is why all my kitchenware is dishwasher safe. You can place it on any stove you may have, including electric, gas, glass, induction, and so on. The set contains an 8-quart stockpot, a steamer insert, pasta insert, and a tempered glass lid. The lid has a steam vent so that you do not end up with the puddle on your stove. As for the riveted handles, they are sturdy as well. Ever since I bought the set, they would not budge.

That way you do not need a colander, and you can just strain the pasta without taking them out of the pot. It is a simple solution, but it works perfectly, and people seem more than satisfied with it. I am sure you will be as well.

This pasta pot has a 5-quart capacity and just as the title suggests, it is oval. That should not be an issue. On the contrary, it will help you cook noodles without breaking them. As for the material the manufacturer used, this pasta pot is made of aluminum. That translates to excellent thermal conductivity, which means that your pasta will come out perfect. Since aluminum is an excellent heat conductor, the manufacturer covered the handles in plastic so that you do not get burned. The handles themselves are sturdy.

This product is a bit similar to the first set I told you about, except that it comes with a single insert, not two. There are a few other differences. For example, this set is made of hard-anodized aluminum which ensures two things. One, it provides even heating, and two, it is incredibly durable. You will own this pasta pot for years. As a bonus, dues to the fact that the aluminum is anodized, you can throw the pot in the dishwasher.

The interior of the Calphalon pasta pot is coated with three layers of non-stick coating. Two are made for durability, and the third is for easy release performance. As for capacity, this is an 8-quart pasta pot, but you also get a pasta insert and a glass lid. The insert can also be used to steam vegetables.

One of the features I like about this set is that the handles are secure, but they are made of stainless steel. As I explained before, stainless steel is not doing so well when it comes to heat conductivity, which means that you cannot get your hands burned. As a bonus, all pieces of this set are oven safe, which means that you can finish a dish without changing the pot.

My recommendation

I can honestly say that I like all three products, but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that the Cook N Home 4-Piece 8-Quart Pasta Cooker Steamer Multipots is my favorite.
